Chickie
enrolled in the school of hard knocks in 1984 and has since earned
the
title “one of the industry’s leading female
builders” she is proud to wear that
title
and have the
respect of her peers, fans and customers alike.
You can find
her fabricating cool choppers and new parts Tuesday through Saturday in the shop –
Occasionally we
let her out to give seminars/speak at garage parties, and appear at rallies across the
nation.
Chickie

Vagabond Chopper Company has recently signed with Pink Sneakers
Productions, the creators of My Big
Redneck
Wedding, Hogan Knows Best, Brooke Knows Best and Miami Social, to begin filming a bit of
our
own Vagabond
reality right here in the shop and out at events with Athena.
Here at
Vagabond Chopper Company we find that our current
advantage to
the marketing world of motorcycles, is Athena. She is
a unique
individual who is very personable and knowledgeable about
her work.
Athena truly exudes style, spirit and grace as she has taken
that approach
while building her reputation as a female builder,
within a
predominantly male dominated industry.
This once
male-dominated industry is also seeing more and more
women enter the
fray. Most importantly, the face of this
$23 billion
industry is changing – literally. This can open a lot of
new
opportunities for those willing to research this polarizing
market. Closing
in on your target customer in your marketing and
promotional
campaign is the key to success.
Statistics show
that Female ownership of motorcycles crossed the 10-percent mark,
increasing from
9.6 percent in 2003 up to 12.3 percent in 2008.
Maybe most
impressive, women accounted for 23 percent, or 5.7 million, of the 25 million
Americans who
rode a motorcycle last year. It’s not just a guy thing anymore, and greater
acceptance
among women means greater acceptance among key influencers
of household
spending decisions.
That is why we
at Vagabond Chopper Company are grateful to have Athena.
With many
magazine features and accomplishments such as the completely “Donated”
Pink Ribbon
Chopper for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, TLC’s Miami
Ink Show, Speed
TV shows Corbin’s Ride On and American Thunder, not to mention the
“Live “ bike
build on the NBC Today Show, Athena has proven her love of building and
riding choppers
and gained the respect and admiration of many who share the same passion for
motorcycling,
which in turn provides a huge marketing draw by scheduling appearances at seminars and
rallies across
the world.
